Tea At Brunch presents Brunch N' Budgets: Recap
Brunch N’ Budgets Recap
This past weekend I had the pleasure of speaking at Brunch N’ Budgets and give budgeting tips to a group of empowered and eager millennial women. The event was amazing to say the least and I cannot wait for the next one. We ate, drank mimosas, and learned about small businesses with Kristina White and budgeting with yours truly! It reflected my life in a sense. Not only can I turn up, but I can also get down to the business and that was the vibe we were going for with this event. We had 2 vendors, Shaken and Stirred Bartending and Jordan’s Jewelry Bar who both fit right in and were able to promote their small businesses. Every lady in the room introduced herself along with a fun fact and if in fact were business owners did a quick promotion of their business! Tea at Brunch is the company that organized this event and is also owned by my best friend, Ariel Boone, who recently has let me partner with her on this venture. So, I am extra excited to see what the future holds for Tea at Brunch. Be sure to follow on Instagram @tea.at.brunch to stay up to date on upcoming events and you can also check the Events tab on my site as well..
Here’s a quick recap of the budgeting tips as well as some small business resources
Budgeting 101 with Kaye Consults
1. Every dollar has a place. Ending balance (income minus expenses) should always equal zero on paper.
2. Decide whether you want to use a budgeting app, pen and paper or an excel template and write everything down
3. Recognize that every month is different and won’t look the same
4. Start with the most important categories first (Tithe/Offering and Savings)
5. Use cash for certain budget categories that may be unpredictable (Gas, Entertainment, Groceries)
6. Go easy on yourself and have fun with it!
7. Pray over your budget and spending habits

Jasmine Kaye
